Departures and the fifteen-minute early arrival
Tours start every hour, and the ticket is valid only for the date and time you purchased. You are asked to arrive fifteen minutes early, and it is not a courtesy: those who arrive after the group's departure will not be admitted to the next slot. The ticket office opens at 9:30, half an hour before the first tour. If you need to calculate the timing, I have listed them in how long the tour lasts.
Note down Wednesday. It is the closing day, it does not appear in the photos circulating online, and it remains the most common way to waste an afternoon in the Sanità district. On how to plan your week, I wrote when to go.
The double ticket, the part almost nobody uses
Those who book here leave the catacombs convinced they have finished. In reality, the same ticket also grants access to the Catacombs of San Gaudioso, at Via della Sanità 123, beneath the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità, and remains valid for twelve months. It works the other way around too: those who start at San Gaudioso have entry to San Gennaro included for the same period. I wrote about the differences between the two in San Gennaro or San Gaudioso.
How much it costs and where to see the price
On this site, I do not display amounts because they change, and the only reliable figure is the one at the moment you book: it appears in the booking box below, along with the discounts available for certain age groups. I explain what is paid for and what affects the price in how much the visit costs.
The official website
The catacombs are managed by the social cooperative La Paranza, founded in the Rione Sanità, and the official website is catacombedinapoli.it. This page is an independent guide: the tickets we link to go through GetYourGuide, not the official ticket office.
Flexible times and booking
Tours are hourly, and booking is mandatory. In the box, you will find the slots still available day by day.
