My name is Assunta Improta. I was born in the Rione Sanità, on a side street off Via dei Vergini, and for years I accompanied visitors up and down the Miglio Sacro before starting to write about it. I know which staircase is which and which questions are really asked at the ticket desk
What this website is, and what it is not
This is an independent guide. It is not the official website of the Catacombs of San Gennaro, it does not manage visits, and it does not sell the official ticket. The catacombs are managed by the social cooperative La Paranza, and their official website is catacombedinapoli.it. I have no ties with the cooperative and do not speak on its behalf. When you book from a page on this website, you are on GetYourGuide, which is the booking channel, not me
How I work
I report ratings and review numbers as they are, even when they are inconvenient: if a visit has nineteen reviews, I write that; if it has the lowest rating of the six, I still write that and try to explain why. You can find everything in the reviews, one page per visit, with a verdict and a paragraph on who might be better off skipping it
No figures appear on this website. Prices change constantly, and a manually written figure becomes outdated in a week: the updated price is shown in the booking box, which reads it in real time. What I can explain is what the ticket includes and what changes the price, and I do that in how much the visit costs.
Why the neighborhood matters
The catacombs were reopened by the young people of La Paranza, and the ticket supports projects in the neighborhood where I was born. It’s a concrete and verifiable reason to book the guided tour instead of walking around the hill and leaving. The context is in Rione Sanità.

No. The official website is catacombedinapoli.it, managed by the social cooperative La Paranza, which also runs the tours. This is an independent guide comparing the formats and bookings available online.
Do you sell the ticket?
No. The booking boxes lead to GetYourGuide, which is the online agency through which you book. You enter into a contract with them, receive confirmation from them, and request changes from them.
Why are there no prices on the website?
